The Department of the Navy Naval Facilities Engineering Command awarded an indefinite delivery contract with a potential value of $120 million to W.F. Magann Corporation to provide waterfront construction services primarily in the Hampton Roads area of Virginia. The contract utilizes multiple-award task order procedures over a five-year period from 2018 to 2023.
Task orders issued to date include waterfront infrastructure projects at various Navy installations. Examples are the $7.95 million award to build floating piers at Fort Story, Virginia to support special boat teams through December 2024. Repairs to Naval Station Norfolk's floating dock V-30 were contracted for $57,807. Replacement of the deperming station substation at Naval Station Norfolk was set aside for small businesses with a value of $6.8 million. Construction of utility bridges at the Naval Shipyard Dry Dock 4 in Portsmouth, Virginia had a small business set-aside value of $1.24 million. Larger projects included installation of flood through valves at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard for $24.86 million and pier repairs there for $4.47 million.
The original solicitation contemplated design-bid-build and design-build projects for construction and repairs to piers, wharves, dry docks and other waterfront infrastructure supporting Navy operations in Hampton Roads, Virginia. Task orders awarded indicate delivery of these services across multiple Navy installations in the region.
