The Data Link Enterprise multiple-award IDV contract was awarded by the Department of the Air Force Materiel Command Electronic Systems Center to provide common tactical data link capabilities. L3 Technologies, Inc. Communication Systems-West Division received several delivery orders under the IDV totaling over $70 million to deliver products and services such as the Common Tactical Edge Network, Common Data Link CDMA network technologies, and the BIFROST Protected Tactical Waveform. Performance is taking place in Salt Lake City, Utah through October 2027.
The delivery orders continue the Air Force's efforts to modernize secure data link systems in support of fifth-generation aircraft and other tactical platforms. L3 Technologies will leverage its expertise in defense communications to provide advanced networking, waveform development, and electronic control units. Major subcontractors include other L3 divisions as well as FMS Secure Solutions and Avnet Inc. No set-asides were specified under the orders. The IDV and associated tasking aim to procure cutting-edge data link capabilities for Air Force programs through firm fixed price and cost-plus-fixed-fee arrangements totaling billions under the potential IDV value.
