The U.S. Department of Defense, through the Oklahoma City Air Logistics Complex (OC-ALC) of the Air Force Materiel Command, has awarded a series of delivery order contracts to The Boeing Company's Legacy Wichita Division for engineering services and support related to the Air Force's B-1 Lancer and B-52 Stratofortress bomber fleets. These contracts, which are part of a larger indefinite-delivery/indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) vehicle, provide for a range of services including recurring and non-recurring engineering, software sustainment, interim contractor support, and fatigue testing.
As the prime contractor, Boeing leverages its deep expertise in aircraft systems, software, and structural engineering to maintain and modernize these critical long-range bomber platforms. The OC-ALC, which is responsible for the depot-level maintenance, repair, and overhaul of the B-1 and B-52 aircraft, relies on Boeing's capabilities to ensure the operational readiness and enhance the capabilities of the Air Force's bomber fleet. The contracts, which do not utilize any set-aside designations, have a total potential value exceeding $2.3 billion over the 10-year period of performance through 2028.
