The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) Glenn Research Center awarded an Indefinite Delivery Contract (IDC) with a ceiling value of $12,000,000 to Nelson Engineering CO., a for-profit design and facility engineering company. The contract provides Architect & Engineering (A&E) Services on a partial small business set-aside basis. Nelson Engineering has been awarded various delivery orders under this IDC for services such as arc flash studies, mechanical systems analyses, electrical upgrades, asset criticality assessments, and altitude chamber design at NASA centers including Glenn Research Center and Langley Research Center. The work is being performed primarily in Cleveland, Ohio and Merritt Island, Florida. The overall IDC has an ultimate completion date of July 31, 2024.
In addition to the IDC, Nelson Engineering holds several other significant indefinite-delivery vehicles (IDVs) with NASA, including a $300 million multiple-award Southeast Regional Architect and Engineering IDIQ and a $12 million Glenn Research Center IDIQ for architecture and engineering services. The company has also secured Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) for capital asset management and building assessment services with other federal agencies like the National Institutes of Health and the National Institute of Standards and Technology, demonstrating its broad expertise and experience in providing critical facility and infrastructure support to the U.S. government.
