The National Institutes of Health National Cancer Institute awarded an indefinite delivery contract against the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results master IDIQ to Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey. A $9.1 million delivery order to Rutgers will provide SEER Core Infrastructure Support through March 2028. Rutgers will deliver support for the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results program, the principal cancer surveillance program of the federal government. Subcontractor Information Management Services will also contribute to the effort.
The original solicitation sought proposals to expand population-based central cancer registries collecting cancer incidence, treatment, and survival data as part of the Surveillance Epidemiology and End Results Program. Registries were required to commit to using the SEER*DMS data management system and collect data for their defined geographic area. Multiple awards up to $500 million total were anticipated to ramp up additional registries for an eight-year period of performance. The primary purpose of these contracts is to enhance the SEER program's cancer surveillance capabilities across more regions of the United States.
