The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 has awarded a $65 million Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract, the Navajo Area Uranium Mines Response Assessment and Evaluation Services II (NAUMRAES II), to Tetra Tech, Inc., a global consulting and engineering services firm. The purpose of this contract is to provide technical assessment services for abandoned uranium mines on and around the Navajo Nation in Regions 6 and 9.
Under this IDIQ, Tetra Tech is providing a range of services to support the EPA's Navajo Area Uranium Mines program, including conducting removal site evaluations, engineering evaluations and cost analyses, technical design services, planning and oversight for removal actions, and community involvement outreach. Tetra Tech is utilizing subcontractors for specialized services such as cultural surveying, laboratory analysis, and drilling. The work is being performed at various locations across the Navajo Nation in Arizona, New Mexico, and Utah, and is funded by EPA Regions 6 and 9. The contract does not have any set-aside designations.
