Vaisala Inc., a foreign-owned, for-profit manufacturer of specialized weather and environmental monitoring equipment, holds a Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) contract with the General Services Administration (GSA) for a variety of meteorological instruments, systems, and related services. Through this MAS contract, valued at up to $168.8 million, Vaisala has received numerous firm fixed-price delivery orders from civilian and defense agencies like the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Department of Defense (DOD), and others. These orders have been for the provision of radiosondes, ceilometers, lightning detection systems, wind sensors, and other equipment to support weather observation, forecasting, research, and climate monitoring activities.

The MAS contract also includes two Blanket Purchase Agreements (BPAs) awarded by NOAA, valued at $748,000 and $38.6 million, for the delivery of ice-free wind sensors and ceilometers, respectively, through 2025 and 2029. Under these BPAs, Vaisala will provide the sensors and ceilometers, as well as associated maintenance and repair services, to NOAA, FAA, and DOD through the issuance of task orders. All of the contract awards and BPAs leverage Vaisala's existing GSA Schedule contract and do not have any set-aside designations.
