This $258,844 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) will support the Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in providing a range of housing and supportive services to address homelessness. The grant funds will be used to deliver permanent housing, transitional housing, rental assistance, emergency shelter, needs assessments, case management, and other eligible activities under the CoC Program. The goal is to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and promoting self-sufficiency. The award aims to decrease homelessness by reducing the length of time individuals and families experience homelessness, preventing returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing. Salvation Army Divisional Headquarters may also utilize this funding to serve as a subrecipient and provide coordinated entry, shelter operations, and case management services for other homelessness initiatives across Wisconsin.
