The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $417,717 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant (CFDA 14.267) to Community Advocates Inc., a non-profit organization in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The grant funding will support the organization's efforts to provide housing assistance, supportive services, and homelessness prevention programs to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Milwaukee area.
Specifically, the CoC Program grant will enable Community Advocates to deliver a range of eligible activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The goal is to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency. As a subrecipient of the CoC Program funds, Community Advocates will implement these activities to address homelessness and increase access to mainstream resources in the Milwaukee community.
