The VA GPD Program aims to develop and promote the availability of transitional housing and supportive services for homeless Veterans. Since 1994, the program has awarded grants to community-based providers developing housing and service programs for Veterans experiencing homelessness. Volunteers of America will use this award to directly further the program's goal of transitioning Veterans from homelessness to permanent housing by establishing more independent living units and reducing reliance on congregate housing models.
