The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration awarded a $2 million Project Grant to Barron Heights Transition Inc. on August 20, 2021 under the VA Homeless Providers Grant and Per Diem Program (GPD Program, CFDA 64.024). The funding will support Barron Heights Transition Inc.'s efforts to reduce congregate living and create individual living units for homeless Veterans. The VA Homeless Providers GPD Program aims to develop and promote the availability of transitional housing and supportive services to assist homeless Veterans in transitioning to independent living. This particular award furthers that goal by allowing Barron Heights Transition Inc. to transition homeless Veterans from congregate housing settings into more private individual living units, helping them achieve greater independence.
