The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded the Housing Authority of the City of Laredo $268,059 under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) on February 1, 2026, for eligible costs to establish and operate homeless assistance projects. The award supports five program components: permanent housing including permanent supportive housing for persons with disabilities and rapid rehousing; transitional housing; supportive services only; Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS); and homelessness prevention where applicable. Eligible costs include COC planning activities, United Funding Agency fiscal control and accounting, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, new construction, and other assistance types specified in the program guidance. The period of performance runs through January 31, 2027, with place of performance in Laredo, Texas. The Continuum of Care Program is designed to promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness, provide funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and dislocation, promote access to mainstream programs, and optimize self-sufficiency among persons experiencing homelessness.
