This $698,570 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program project grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (CFDA 14.267), will provide funding to the Homeless Network of Texas (dba Texas Homeless Network) to address homelessness in the Austin, TX area. Specifically, the grant will enable the organization to rapidly rehouse homeless individuals and families, provide rental assistance and housing counseling, operate shelters and transitional housing, and deliver supportive services such as case management, job training, and mental health/substance abuse treatment. The grant is intended to promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness, quickly house homeless individuals while minimizing trauma, and optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness. As the lead agency for the Austin/Travis County Continuum of Care, Texas Homeless Network will utilize this federal funding to coordinate homeless assistance programs among local nonprofits and government agencies.
