The Tarrant County Homeless Coalition (Tchc) has been awarded a $517,832 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267). This funding will support Tchc's efforts to quickly house homeless individuals and families in the Fort Worth, TX area while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness.
The CoC Program provides funding to nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to establish and operate projects under five components: permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. Tchc, as the CoC lead agency, will use this award to deliver a range of eligible activities such as rental assistance, supportive services, and operating costs of supportive housing. The overall goal is to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the community by reducing the length of time homeless, preventing returns to homelessness, and facilitating exits to permanent housing.
