The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded Housing Authority of Fort Worth, Texas $2.811 million on June 1, 2026, under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) to fund permanent housing, rapid rehousing, transitional housing, supportive services, and homeless management information systems serving Fort Worth. The award funds eligible costs to establish and operate projects across five program components: permanent supportive housing for persons with disabilities and rapid rehousing; transitional housing; supportive services only; Homeless Management Information Systems; and, in some cases, homelessness prevention. Funding may also support COC planning activities, United Funding Agency fiscal control and accounting for subrecipients, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, and new construction. Performance runs through May 31, 2027, with work performed in Fort Worth, TX 76102. The Continuum of Care Program promotes community-wide commitment to ending homelessness and provides funding to nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and dislocation, promoting access to mainstream programs, and optimizing self-sufficiency.
