The National Endowment for the Humanities awarded Utah Humanities Council $718,730 in total funding on June 1, 2026, under the Promotion of the Humanities Federal/State Partnership program (CFDA 45.129).

Utah Humanities Council delivers free public humanities programming and distributes subawards to local organizations and institutions across Utah. The award supports the council's general operating activities to strengthen communities through humanities education and lifelong learning, tailoring programming and subaward-making to the needs, resources, and interests of Utah residents.

The award covers a five-year period of performance through April 30, 2031, with all work performed in Utah. Utah Humanities Council operates as a pass-through recipient, functioning exclusively as a prime recipient of NEH and NEA grants with no contract portfolio. The council must expend funds during the first three years of the performance period and retain documentation of expenditures and fiscal records for three years following submission of the final expenditure report.

The council tailors its subaward-making and public programs to the needs, resources, and interests of utah. In doing so, IT delivers on its mission to, "strengthen communities by cultivating connections, deepening understanding, and exploring our complex human experience."]
