The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs awarded The American Council of Young Political Leaders (ACYPL) a $593,943 Project Grant on September 30, 2025, under the Professional and Cultural Exchange Programs - Citizen Exchanges (CFDA 19.415) for FY 2025 programming. The award, obligating $750,789 in total federal assistance, supports ACYPL's design and implementation of professional exchange programs that connect emerging U.S. political leaders with their counterparts in international locations through August 31, 2027. ACYPL delivers targeted international political and cultural exchange initiatives that promote cross-cultural understanding, strengthen democratic values, and develop leadership skills among young political professionals.

The funded program facilitates multi-day exchange activities that enable knowledge sharing about political systems, create networking opportunities for emerging political leaders, and build mutual understanding between American and foreign participants. Through its Citizen Exchange programming, ACYPL advances U.S. foreign policy objectives by exposing international participants to American democratic principles and values while simultaneously building international knowledge and networks among American political professionals. The organization's exchange activities engage participants across critical sectors including justice, democratic governance, and youth development, with program performance taking place throughout the United States and participating international countries.
