The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) awarded a $300,000 Project Grant to California Farmlink, a non-profit organization, under the SBA's Program for Investment in Microentrepreneurs (PRIME) on September 30, 2024. The PRIME program provides funding to support training, technical assistance, and capacity building services for disadvantaged entrepreneurs and microenterprise development organizations.
Through this grant, California Farmlink will deliver a range of services aimed at supporting agricultural businesses, particularly those owned by socially disadvantaged, beginning, organic, and small-scale farmers and ranchers. Services include business training, technical assistance, financial products, access to credit and capital, coaching on asset acquisition and debt reduction, legal structure guidance, crop insurance analysis, farm succession planning, and conservation assistance. California Farmlink has also collaborated with university partners on curricula development and program evaluations for some of its federal grant activities.
