This is a $826,320 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to the Rhode Island Coalition For The Homeless, Inc. on March 11, 2025. The purpose of the CoC Program (CFDA 14.267) is to promote community-wide strategies to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
The grant funds will be used by the Rhode Island Coalition For The Homeless, Inc. to provide a variety of eligible activities under the CoC Program, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and potentially homelessness prevention. As the lead agency for Rhode Island's Continuum of Care planning, the Coalition will use this funding to continue its efforts to end homelessness in Providence and Pawtucket through a comprehensive approach spanning crisis response to long-term housing solutions.
