Description
- Abstract
- Support is requested for a keystone symposia conference entitled targeted delivery of nucleic acid medicines, organized by DRS. C. Frank bennett, beverly l. Davidson and daniel g. Anderson, with scientific programming input from keystone symposia. The meeting will take place january 25-28, 2027 at keystone resort in keystone, colorado. There have been tremendous advances in developing nucleic acid-based strategies for treating human diseases. Recent clinical successes have validated nucleic acid-based platforms, documenting that they can provide life- changing medicines to patients who need them. However, efficient delivery of these nucleic acid payloads to the cell type of interest and the appropriate subcellular compartment still limits their full potential despite significant progress over the past decade. This keystone symposia conference on targeted delivery of nucleic acid medicines will cover the latest designs for viral vectors, lipid nanoparticle systems, virus-like particles, and ligand conjugates to enhance delivery of nucleic acid payloads. This meeting is designed to bring together scientists from multiple disciplines, working on different strategies for the delivery of nucleic acid cargos to cells, into a single conference to provide a forum where researchers that share the common goal of enhancing intracellular delivery of nucleic acids will gather, exchange ideas and forge new collaborations. A key goal of the meeting is to connect scientists who have different expertise and perspectives to learn from each other, enabling more rapid and effective solutions for these delivery challenges. Genetic medicine represents one major area of effort, and accordingly, this conference has will be held jointly with another keystone symposia meeting on precision genome engineering: from laboratory to clinic, creating opportunities for synergies and shared insights by connecting common themes of delivering nucleic acids and ribonucleoprotein complexes to cells and tissues.
