This $307,143 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (CFDA 14.267) on March 11, 2025, supports the nonprofit organization Red POR LOS Derechos De La Ninez Y Juventud De Puerto Rico Inc. in providing housing and services to address homelessness in Puerto Rico. The grant funds may be used for a range of eligible activities, including permanent supportive housing, transitional housing, supportive services, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The goal is to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by reducing the length of time spent homeless, preventing returns to homelessness, and facilitating exits to permanent housing. While the specific subrecipient activities are unknown at this time, the CoC Program is designed to promote community-wide strategies to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, minimize the trauma caused by homelessness, and optimize self-sufficiency among those experiencing homelessness.
