The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $174,884 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant (CFDA 14.267) to Casa De La Bondad, Inc. on March 11, 2025. The CoC Program is designed to promote community-wide strategies to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
Through this project grant, Casa De La Bondad, Inc., a domestic shelter and non-profit organization, will provide temporary housing and supportive services to homeless individuals and families, including victims of domestic violence. The grant funding will support Casa De La Bondad's shelter operations, transitional housing for domestic violence victims and their children, and services such as counseling, childcare, and assistance to facilitate the transition out of abusive situations. As a subrecipient, Casa De La Bondad has partnered with Puerto Rico's Departments of Justice, Family, and the Women's Advocate Office on projects providing domestic violence shelters, emergency housing, and direct care to victims.
