The Illinois Student Assistance Commission (ISAC) has been awarded a $5,000,000 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Education's Gaining Early Awareness and Readiness for Undergraduate Programs (GEAR UP, CFDA 84.334) to provide comprehensive college preparation services to low-income students in Illinois from November 1, 2024 to October 31, 2025. The GEAR UP grant will allow ISAC to deliver academic advising, tutoring, financial aid counseling, college application assistance, and scholarship support to help eligible students, including those with disabilities, obtain secondary school diplomas and enroll in postsecondary education. This grant represents ISAC's continued participation in administering GEAR UP initiatives to improve college access and success for underserved populations in Illinois.
