The Department of Education Office of Postsecondary Education awarded a $3.7 million Project Grant to Northern Vermont University-Johnson under the Fund for the Improvement of Postsecondary Education program. The grant will support the awardee's SYSTEM-WIDE TRANSFORMATION OF WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT, LIBRARIES, AND INSTITUTIONAL RESEARCH initiative from September 1, 2022 to August 30, 2025.
This initiative aims to reform and improve postsecondary instruction, quality, and opportunities through direct funding for activities that support institutional reforms and innovative strategies. Specifically, the University will transform its workforce development, libraries, and institutional research functions in a coordinated, system-wide manner. This comprehensive reform seeks to strengthen linkages between academic and career programs, enhance library resources and services, and bolster research capabilities. The three-year grant period will allow for significant changes across key areas that impact teaching, learning, and overall institutional effectiveness.
