This $848,707 federal Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) will support the Native American Rehabilitation Association of the Northwest, Incorporated (NARA) in providing a range of housing and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Portland, Oregon metropolitan area.
The funding will allow NARA, a non-profit minority-owned organization, to deliver eligible CoC program activities such as permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, and homeless management information systems (HMIS). The expected outcomes include decreasing the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by reducing the length of time homeless, preventing returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing. NARA, as the prime awardee, may also utilize the grant funds to provide housing relocation, stabilization services, and short- or medium-term rental assistance to at-risk individuals and families to prevent homelessness.
