This $177,248 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program project grant, awarded by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) on March 11, 2025, supports the efforts of Legacy III Inc., a non-profit organization in Akron, Ohio, to address homelessness in the local community.
The funding will enable Legacy III Inc. to provide a range of eligible CoC program activities, including operating transitional housing facilities, offering rental assistance, and delivering supportive services to assist individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Key services to be provided include intensive case management, relapse prevention, life skills training, and employment assistance to help stabilize homeless populations and facilitate their transition to permanent housing and self-sufficiency. The project grant will also support the organization's specialized Pathways to Freedom program, which focuses on serving homeless single women recovering from substance abuse and mental health disorders.
