The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $268,271 Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) grant to the Mental Health Association of Essex and Morris Inc. on March 11, 2025. This project grant funds a range of services and activities to promote community-wide efforts to quickly house homeless individuals and families in Parsippany, NJ and surrounding areas, while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
Eligible activities under this grant include permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. Specific services to be delivered by the grantee are not yet known, as the sub-recipient activities are undetermined at the time of the initial award. However, the Continuum of Care Program aims to provide funding to nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to address homelessness through coordinated, comprehensive strategies that increase housing stability and access to mainstream resources for vulnerable populations.
