Kansas State University's Salina Aerospace and Technology Campus received a $1.5M Project Grant from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) under the Congressionally Identified Awards and Projects program (CFDA 11.469) effective June 1, 2025, with a completion date of May 31, 2029. The award funds the development of a full-motion custom flight simulator as identified in the Consolidated Appropriations Act, 2024. This specialized training simulator will support education and research activities in aerospace technology and related disciplines at the institution's Manhattan, Kansas facility.

The project represents NOAA's commitment to facilitating education and research infrastructure in scientific and technical fields through congressionally designated funding. The four-year project timeline allows for comprehensive design, development, and implementation of the custom simulator system, which will enhance training capabilities and support workforce development in advanced aerospace technology education.

Kansas state university salina aerospace and technology campus presents the following application to the national oceanic and atmospheric administration for the development of a full motion custom simulator in the amount of $1,500,000.00 as specified in the consolidated appropriations act, 2024. This application narrative includes the project design and project personnel relevant to the development of the full motion flight simulator named in the appropriations act.
