About this award
The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) awarded a $1,200,000 Project Grant under the Congressionally Identified Awards and Projects program (CFDA 11.469) to the Alaska Department of Fish & Game (ADF&G) Division of Commercial Fisheries. The funding will allow ADF&G to maintain and improve its fleet of large research vessels used to conduct critical marine surveys that provide the scientific data and fish stock assessments needed for the sustainable management of Alaska's subsistence, commercial, recreational, and personal use fisheries. The grant will support upgrades to ensure the vessels are safe, efficient, and meet modern industry standards, enabling ADF&G to continue vital fishery-independent surveys and develop new stock assessments to maximize sustainable harvest opportunities. The project period runs from July 1, 2025 to June 30, 2029.
