THE EVERY CLASSROOM A GREEN CLASSROOM PROJECT WILL INCORPORATE ALL ELEMENTS OF A MEANINGFUL WATERSHED EDUCATIONAL EXPERIENCE (MWEE) TO INCREASE THE SCIENTIFIC AND ENVIRONMENTAL LITERACY OF TEACHERS AND STUDENTS BY INTEGRATING CLASSROOM CURRICULUM WITH OUTDOOR LEARNING AND STEWARDSHIP ACTIVITIES. FOR THE 3-YEAR GRANT PERIOD AT LEAST 133 TEACHERS AND 6,175 STUDENTS WILL PARTICIPATE. THE TOTAL PROJECT COST PER STUDENT/TEACHER IS $72.82, $47.56 FEDERAL FUNDING AND $25.26 LOCAL FUNDING. IN YEAR 3 OF THIS PROJECT ALL TEACHERS THROUGHOUT SANTA CRUZ COUNTY WILL BE INVITED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE EVERY CLASSROOM A GREEN CLASSROOM CHALLENGE.
