This $145,436 federal Project Grant award under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267), administered by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), will support Foster Adopt Connect, Inc.'s efforts to provide housing and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Independence, Missouri. Key activities to be funded include:
Permanent housing, transitional housing, and rapid rehousing assistance, as well as supportive services to help homeless individuals and families obtain and maintain stable housing. The award will also cover eligible costs for Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS) and project administrative expenses. In addition, as a high-performing CoC, Foster Adopt Connect may use grant funds for homelessness prevention activities such as housing relocation, stabilization services, and short-/medium-term rental assistance. The expected outcomes are to decrease the number of homeless individuals and families, reduce the length of time people experience homelessness, and increase exits to permanent housing.
