This $136,725 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (CFDA 14.267) will support the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency's efforts to address homelessness in the Benton Harbor, Michigan area. Through this project grant, the agency will provide a range of eligible activities, including:
Permanent housing, rapid re-housing, and transitional housing to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families, while also offering supportive services to help participants achieve self-sufficiency. The agency may also use funds for homeless management information systems (HMIS) and project administrative costs. As a sub-recipient under the CoC Program, the Southwest Michigan Community Action Agency will administer these services to the local homeless population, with the goal of decreasing the length of homelessness, reducing returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing. This award was made on March 11, 2025 to support the agency's continued work in the Benton Harbor community.
