This $130,349 Project Grant award from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267) will support Metro Community Development Inc., a non-profit community development organization in Flint, Michigan, in its efforts to address homelessness. The funding will enable Metro Community Development to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency. Eligible activities under this grant include permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. As a certified Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Metro Community Development will leverage this HUD CoC funding to deliver a range of housing, community development, and small business support services in the Flint area, in partnership with local entities such as Shelter of Flint, Genesee County Youth Corp, and Genesee Health System.
