This $333,959 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program project grant awarded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (CFDA 14.267) supports the delivery of comprehensive homelessness services by Alternatives For Girls, a non-profit organization in Detroit, Michigan. The grant funds will enable Alternatives For Girls to provide a range of assistance, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, and homelessness prevention to homeless individuals and families in the local community. The expected outcomes are to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness by reducing the length of time homeless, minimizing returns to homelessness, and increasing exits to permanent housing. As a sub-recipient, Alternatives For Girls has also collaborated with the City of Detroit and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services to deliver emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, and support services for the local homeless population.
