The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded Community Rebuilders $539,702 on February 1, 2026, under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267), a Project Grant designed to fund community-wide efforts to end homelessness by quickly housing homeless individuals and families while providing supportive services.
Community Rebuilders, a Grand Rapids, Michigan-based nonprofit, will perform work in Wyoming, Michigan with a period of performance from February 1, 2026 through January 31, 2027. The award funds eligible costs under the COC program's five components: permanent housing including permanent supportive housing and rapid rehousing, transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems, and homelessness prevention where applicable. Eligible activities include COC planning, fiscal control and accounting for subrecipients, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, new construction, and related program operations.
Community Rebuilders administers COC grants as lead agency in its region, passing through funding to Michigan housing nonprofits including Hope Network Affordable Independent Living Nonprofit Housing Corporation and Arbor Circle Corporation. The organization serves as the largest regional recipient of HUD COC funding and maintains the community's functional-zero homeless plan through Continuum of Care leadership roles, while also operating Supportive Services for Veteran Families programs and delivering Health Care for Homeless Veterans services through the Department of Veterans Affairs.
