The Department of Housing and Urban Development Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded $117,488 to Reach Resource Services on April 1, 2026, under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267). Reach, doing business as Runaway Emergency Action Center Hotline (Reach), operates emergency shelter, transitional housing, street outreach, and crisis intervention services for runaway, homeless, and street youth under age 22 in Flint, Michigan. The award runs through March 31, 2027, and funds eligible costs to establish and operate projects under the program's five components: permanent housing (including permanent supportive housing and rapid rehousing), transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and in some cases homelessness prevention. The Continuum of Care Program is designed to promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness, provide funding for nonprofit providers and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and dislocation, promote access to mainstream programs, and optimize self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
