The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) awarded a $311,971 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program grant (CFDA 14.267) to Community Assistance Network Inc. (CAN) to provide a range of housing and supportive services to address homelessness in Baltimore, Maryland. The CoC Program is designed to promote community-wide strategies that quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and promoting self-sufficiency.
Through this Project Grant award, CAN will utilize the funds to carry out eligible CoC Program activities, including permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. The organization will work to decrease the number of individuals and families experiencing homelessness in the Baltimore area by providing services such as rapid rehousing, case management, counseling, food access, health services, and employment assistance. As a sub-recipient, CAN has received additional funding from the Maryland Department of Housing & Community Development and the Maryland Department of Human Services to expand its service offerings and address various aspects of homelessness and poverty in the community.
