This Project Grant award of $115,846, provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) under the Continuum of Care (CoC) Program (CFDA 14.267), supports efforts by the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Fall River, Massachusetts, Inc. to address homelessness in the Fall River area. The funding will enable the organization to provide a range of eligible activities under the CoC Program, including permanent supportive housing, rapid re-housing, homelessness prevention, and coordinated entry services. As a sub-recipient, Catholic Charities will leverage this award to operate initiatives such as the Francis House and Cornerstone projects, which offer scattered-site leasing and supportive services to chronically homeless individuals and families with disabilities. The award is expected to contribute to decreasing homelessness in the region by reducing the length of time individuals and families experience homelessness, preventing returns to homelessness, and facilitating exits to permanent housing.
