The Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded $190,744 to Lafayette Transitional Housing Center, Inc. on September 1, 2026, under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267). The award funds eligible costs to establish and operate projects under five program components: permanent housing (including permanent supportive housing for persons with disabilities and rapid rehousing), transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and in some cases homelessness prevention. Eligible activities include COC planning, fiscal control and accounting through a United Funding Agency, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property, new construction, and thirteen other types of assistance designed to house homeless individuals and families while minimizing trauma and dislocation and promoting access to mainstream programs.
