The Department of Housing and Urban Development awarded Respond Now $128,526.00 under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) on January 1, 2026. Respond Now, a nonprofit organization based in the Ford Heights, Illinois area, will use the funding to establish and operate Continuum of Care projects serving homeless individuals and families in Ford Heights through December 31, 2026. The Continuum of Care Program funds eligible costs for permanent housing including permanent supportive housing and rapid rehousing, transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention activities. Funding may also support planning activities, United Funding Agency costs for fiscal control and accounting, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, and new construction. Respond Now delivers housing and supportive services including emergency shelter, transitional housing, permanent supportive housing, housing relocation and stabilization assistance, and homelessness prevention, and collaborates with partners including Housing Action Illinois, Alliance To End Homelessness, and Cook County on coordinated entry systems, street outreach, housing assessments, and specialized services for veterans and unaccompanied youth.
