This $541,418 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program project grant, awarded on March 11, 2025 by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (CFDA 14.267), provides funding to the non-profit organization South Suburban Pads to implement a range of housing and supportive services to address homelessness in the Ford Heights, Illinois area.
The grant supports South Suburban Pads' efforts to quickly rehouse homeless individuals and families while minimizing the trauma and dislocation caused by homelessness. Eligible activities under the CoC Program include permanent housing, transitional housing, supportive services, homeless management information systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention. South Suburban Pads will use the funding to provide a comprehensive array of services such as rapid rehousing, case management, housing counseling, rental assistance, job training, and mental health/substance abuse treatment. The organization collaborates with various local entities to administer emergency housing assistance and coordinated entry services to connect homeless individuals and families with appropriate resources.
