The Lima Municipal Court received a $1,483,143 Project Grant from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance (CFDA 93.243) program. This 60-month grant award will fund the expansion of the Lima Municipal Treatment Courts (LMTC) in Allen County, Ohio to enhance their post-adjudication adult drug court programming. The grant will enable the LMTC to increase their participant capacity from 30 to 60 individuals and provide critical support services, improved access to substance abuse treatment, housing assistance, and relapse prevention resources to an estimated 242 participants and their families. The overarching goals are to reduce overdoses, overdose deaths, recidivism, and improve graduation rates through the implementation of evidence-based practices and the key drug court model components. This funding will allow the LMTC to better serve historically underserved populations within the community who are at high risk of recidivism due to drug and alcohol-related offenses.
