This Project Grant award of $1,000,000 from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) under the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Projects of Regional and National Significance (CFDA 93.243) program aims to reduce racial/ethnic disparities related to mental illness, substance use disorders, and HIV/STI/HCV infection and care among Hispanic men who have sex with men (MSM) in New York City. The 5-year "Entre Nosotros" program, which began on September 30, 2024, will utilize evidence-based practices to increase health-promoting behaviors, early detection, diagnosis, and treatment among this population. Key services include health information dissemination, behavioral health and HIV/STI/HCV screening and testing, substance use disorder treatment, psycho-educational sessions, and navigation services to connect participants to appropriate care and support. The program targets approximately 470 Hispanic MSM over the project period, while also distributing health information and messages to at least 1,000 individuals. The Latino Commission on AIDS, Inc., a non-profit organization, is the prime recipient of this federal grant award.
