PIKEVILLE MEDICAL CENTER EASTERN KENTUCKY RURAL EMERGENCY MEDICAL TRAINING EXPANSION PROGRAM - THE GOAL OF THIS PROGRAM IS TO INCREASE THE CAPACITY OF THE REGION'S EMS AGENCIES TO PROVIDE CRITICAL CARE TRANSPORTS LEADING TO IMPROVE HEALTH OUTCOMES FOR THOSE IN THE REGION REQUIRING EMS SERVICES. THIS WILL BE ACCOMPLISHED BY RECRUITING AND TRAINING UP TO 36 ADDITIONAL EMERGENCY MEDICAL PERSONNEL IN RURAL KENTUCKY USING THE EXISTING NATIONAL HIGHWAY SAFETY ADMINISTRATION NATIONAL EMERGENCY SERVICES EDUCATION STANDARDS TRAINING CURRICULUM AND TARGETING PEOPLE IN RURAL KENTUCKY COMMUNITIES WHO ARE INTERESTED IN PURSING A CAREER IN EMERGENCY MEDICINE SERVICES.
