Description

Mat and MRT project - this "mat and MRT" project will look to address ways in helping our participants deal with the craving and urges of opioid/heroin/alcohol use and development of social functioning skills within our phase II members through the use of evidence-based programs. The tpdtc will enhance current services and improve quality and/or intensity of services by building the capacity of the program to provide services aimed at offering mat (vivitrol) injections and the use of moral reconation therapy. In 2020, the population of terrebonne parish was 109,580 with 70.7% reported as white, 19.2 % reported as black, 6.2 % reported as native american and 1.1 % reported as asian. Present enrollment for the tpdtc is 57. Similarly, current enrollment of tpdtc by race is representative of the population level of terrebonne parish. Presently in the program, 68% reported their race as white, 17% as black, and 3% native american. Twenty-six (26) or 46% of our fifty-seven (57) current participants identified opioid/heroin/alcohol as their primary/secondary drug of choice. We will work to decrease the craving and urges of identified drugs through the utilization of medication-assisted treatment (mat). By NOV. 30, 2022, we will train our staff on the mat services available to our participants, by sept. 30 of each year, we will work to demonstrate a reduction in positive UA's by 15% or greater, and demonstrate a reduction in judge imposed sanctions of 10% or greater. We will also work to increase the social functioning skills of our phase II participants through the utilization of another evidence-based program model moral reconation therapy, which facilitates the development of higher stages of moral reasoning. By NOV. 30, 2022, we will have trained two (2) new MRT facilitators, by DEC. 31, 2022, 50% of phase II participants will have enrolled in gender specific MRT groups, by the end of year 1, 25% of MRT participants will have completed the MRT curriculum, and by the end of year 2, 15% of participants who completed the MRT curriculum will also have successfully graduated from the tpdtc program. We plan to serve 107 (50 being new) participants in year 1, 112 (55 being new) participants in year 2, 117 (55 being new) participants in year 3, 122 (55 being new) participants in year 4, and 127 (55 being new) participants in year 5. We plan to graduate an average of 20 participants each year and our attrition average will be 30 participants per year. The expected unduplicated population for all five years is 327.
