FRANCISCAN HEALTH MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT) PROGRAM - THE PURPOSE OF THE FRANCISCAN HEALTH MEDICATION ASSISTED TREATMENT (MAT) PROGRAM IS TO ENHANCE AND EXPAND ACCESS TO MAT SERVICES FOR ADULTS WITHIN ALL SERVICE AREAS OF FRANCISCAN HEALTH WITH OPIOID USE DISORDER (OUD). MAT IS AN FDA-APPROVED AND CLINICALLY SOUND TREATMENT FOR OPIATE USE DISORDER THAT PROVIDES A MORE COMPREHENSIVE, INDIVIDUALLY TAILORED PROGRAM OF MEDICATION AND BEHAVIORAL THERAPY. MAT ALSO INCLUDES SUPPORT SERVICES THAT ADDRESS THE NEEDS OF MOST PATIENTS. ALL MEDICATION SERVICES WILL BE PROVIDED BY PHYSICIANS AND ADVANCED PRACTICE PROFESSIONALS WITH THE BUPRENORPHINE MEDICATION WAIVER. THE MAT PROGRAM AT FRANCISCAN HEALTH WILL COMBINE INTENSIVE OUTPATIENT PROGRAMS TO PROVIDE THE MOST EFFECTIVE TREATMENT IN AN OUTPATIENT SETTING, ASSISTING THE INDIVIDUAL WITH OPIATE REPLACEMENT, AND DEVELOPING NEW STRATEGIES AND COPING SKILLS TO BETTER MANAGE THEIR RECOVERY, HEALTH, RELATIONSHIPS, AND WORK ACTIVITIES. FH WILL BUILD CAPACITY TO SERVE OVER 900 ADULTS OVER A FIVE-YEAR PERIOD. THE ULTIMATE GOAL OF MAT IS FULL RECOVERY, INCLUDING THE ABILITY TO LIVE A SELF-DIRECTED LIFE.
