WCDSS HAS A STRONG REPUTATION AND A LONG HISTORY OF ACTIVE PARTICIPATION IN LOCAL AND REGIONAL CONSORTIUMS, AND IMPLEMENTATION OF FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL GRANT INITIATIVES. COMBINED WITH STAFF EXPERIENCE AND KNOWLEDGE OF THE FULL CONTINUUM OF SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER (SUD) PREVENTION, TREATMENT, AND RECOVERY, WCDSS IS WELL PREPARED TO IMPROVE ACCESS TO AND QUALITY OF SUD AND OTHER BEHAVIORAL HEALTH CARE SERVICES THROUGH THE INITIATIVE. THE GOAL OF THE INITIATIVE IS TO EXPAND UPON THE ACTIVITIES AND SUCCESS OF THE COUNTY'S RCORP-IMPLEMENTATION INITIATIVE BY ADDRESSING (1) SUBSTANCE USE IN ADDITION TO OPIOIDS, INCLUDING POLYSUBSTANCE USE AND PSYCHOSTIMULANTS, (2) CO-OCCURRING MENTAL HEALTH CONDITIONS, AND (3) THE EFFECTS OF TRAUMA ON FUTURE SUBSTANCE USE. THIS OVERARCHING GOAL ENCOMPASSES THE GOALS OF THE RCORP-BHS PROGRAM.
