Description
Ohio department of health reproductive health and wellness program - the ohio department of health (ODH) requests funds in the amount of $700,000 as a title x grantee to enhance and expand telehealth infrastructure for services currently being administered by subrecipients of the reproductive health and wellness program (rhwp). The rhwp currently allocates title x funding in ohio to 42 subrecipient agencies with 75 clinic sites in 58 of the 88 counties in ohio. ODH is located at 246 north high street, columbus, ohio. The program is housed within the bureau of maternal, child and family health, women and family health services section. The rhwp has been providing telehealth services since april, 2020. As soon as covid-19 was recognized as a potential pandemic, ODH responded by assigning staff to remote telework positions. The rhwp promptly provided covid-19 and telehealth guidance to subrecipients. Training and additional funding was provided to subrecipients to begin providing telehealth services immediately. Ongoing training and resources have been provided throughout the pandemic. Additional funding was provided to the subrecipients to implement telehealth infrastructure and services. All subrecipients were required to provide telehealth services. The additional funds supported personnel, equipment, internet, telehealth carts, etc. The barriers have been educating the community on this service and staff training and support. This funding will allow the rhwp to expand on the work that has already been done and enhance the sustainability of telehealth services in ohio.
