The Department of Housing and Urban Development's Assistant Secretary for Community Planning and Development awarded County of Lee $314,676 under the Continuum of Care Program (CFDA 14.267) on April 1, 2026, for the period April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2027. The award funds eligible costs to establish and operate projects under five program components: permanent housing (including permanent supportive housing for persons with disabilities and rapid rehousing), transitional housing, supportive services only, Homeless Management Information Systems (HMIS), and homelessness prevention where applicable. Eligible activities include COC planning, fiscal control and accounting for sub-recipient disbursals through a United Funding Agency, acquisition and rehabilitation of real property for housing or supportive services, and new construction. Place of performance is Fort Myers, Florida. The Continuum of Care Program is designed to promote community-wide commitment to ending homelessness, provide funding for nonprofit providers, states, and local governments to quickly house homeless individuals and families, promote access to mainstream programs by homeless persons, and optimize self-sufficiency among individuals and families experiencing homelessness.
