- This $2.19 million National Science Foundation project grant supports research into integrative wildlife nutrition from molecules to macro-ecology over three years. Funded under the Biological Sciences program (CFDA 47.074), the grant to Northwestern University will investigate how six species of wild primates in two tropical forests modulate their nutrition in response to varying food availability. The research team, which includes Rutgers University, Cornell University, Hunter College, and...
- This Project Grant award of $151,357 from the National Science Foundation (NSF) Office of Integrative Activities under the NSF Geosciences program will support research to examine the interactions between climate change, agricultural practices, pesticide use, and impacts on human and wildlife well-being in the tropical forest-agricultural region around Uganda's Kibale National Park. The key research activities include: (1) quantifying environmental pressures across farms; (2) evaluating...
- This three-year National Science Foundation Project Grant of $199,996 supports research into how wild redtail monkeys make nutritional decisions across variable forest environments. The awardee, the Research Foundation of the City University of New York on behalf of Hunter College, will investigate feeding behavior, diet compositions, and gut microbiomes as monkeys experience disparate nutritional conditions in three forests. Behavioral observations, dietary analysis, and microbiome...
- The Pan African Sanctuary Alliance (PASA) will receive $460,436 under a three-year Project Grant from the U.S. Department of the Interior Fish and Wildlife Service Region 9 Headquarters.
